The new PAN would comprise of the same date, name, gender, birth, address, and mobile number as provided in Aadhaar card of the individual. This new e-PAN facility features the resident individuals rather than Hindu undivided firms, companies, trust, and families. As per the official’s statement, after the successful allotment of PAN card via the electronic Aadhaar-based verification system, the candidate would receive the PAN card through post. The individual resident can easily process the linking at official portal of the department.
As per the recent sources, the deadline for linking the PAN and Aadhaar card for the Indian individual residents had been extended to March 31 by Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT). As per the section 139AA (2) of the Income-tax Act, the entire Indian residents having PAN card as on 1 July 2017, and are qualified to get Aadhaar, are strictly needed to intimate tax officials of his/her Aadhaar card number.
Whilst Aadhaar card is issued by UIDAI (unique identification identity of India), PAN card comprises a 10-digit number that is provided by Income tax department to the individual.
