Now, it looks like that over sixty days long impasse at Manipur University going to end if Union HRD Ministry cooperates with the newly designated In-Charge VC. As per released of the Manipur University, Prof. Vishwanath Singh has accepted the charge of VC.
After assuming the in-charge VC, he wrote a letter to Secretary to the Government of India, Dept. of Higher Education, MHRD, requesting the Ministry to resolve the present crisis in Manipur University. While elaborating the reasons behind demanding removal Pandey, Prof.Vishwanath insisted the MHRD to constitute the Fact Finding Committee under the Commission of Enquiry Act 1952.
Now it is up to the MHRD, on whether the academic atmosphere be resumed as the letter is being sent by a VC in charge who has been conferred all power equivalent to the VC in his absence as per the Manipur University Act.
