The Myanmarese government has announced facility for ‘Visa on Arrival’ with effect from 8th August 2018. It can be considered as a step to ease transportation and also to promote tourism.
In Tamu town of Myanmar, there will be an ‘Opening ceremony of the International border of Myanmar- India’. Local Myanmarese in this town has expressed that there would no longer be any more problems of ‘Special Land Entry Permission’ in the country.
This special land entry permission was formerly required for visitors entering the country via land routes. Now, The Myanmarese government has suspended it as its intention is for having better business ties with other South East Asian countries.
However, intentions of both sides are quite positive. But, we need to wait and watch to see, whether the objectives of promoting business and tourism can be really achieved.
