Yesterday, there was a workshop on Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) for attaining Open Defecation Free Manipur in Sangai Hall at Hotel Imphal. Here, CM N Biren Singh has today directed the officials of public health engineering department and deputy commissioners of all districts to achieve open defecation free in the state by August 15, 2018.
CM also added that this is a dream of Prime Minister’s Narendra Modi to achieve nationwide open defecation free by October 2, 2019, in commemoration of the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
Minister for PHED, Losii Dikho and Secretary of state PHE, Nidhi Kesarwani have also reported about the progress in this regard.
Various other officials have shared their reports in this one day workshop and assured the chief minister that target of Open Defecation Free Manipur will be achieved within the set timeline.
