IMPHAL: unceasing rains since few days have generated flood-like conditions in Imphal. Copious rainfall has completely disturbed the normal life. Rescue measures launched by the government are running in full swing to take control of the situation.
The IAS officer himself spearheaded the efforts to take control of the situation. Dileep Singh, the IAS officer, secretary, flood control has become a Twitter sensation after his pictures in waist-deep water were shared all over.
Along with Imphal, other north-eastern regions are also seeing a heavy shower since the last few days. The water levels of major rivers of Deo, Haora, Gomati, and Manu are rising and posing a threat to the states.
Six different districts of Assam have been flooded after monsoon hit the state this month and around 10,000 residents, including 3,941 children have been sheltered in 71 relief camps.
