Last week, Tourism Director, Waikhom Ibohal has inaugurated solar toilets at Ibudhou Marjing hill Heingang.  He mentioned that he met an entrepreneur during the global summit in Guwahati, where he got to know about this technology of solar toilets.
Waikhom Ibohal further shared that this is like an initial project and if it got successful then more such solar toilets will be developed in almost all tourist spots across the Manipur State.
In this toilets, the solar panel connected to these toilets absorbs the heat to generate power and also efficiently transform waste material. It is a concept of Ravi Senji who is from Chennai. He informed that the solar toilet installation had also taken place in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. Before Gandhi Jayanti in this year, Ravi Senji is hoping to install 100 units in Manipur.
