Two individuals were apprehended along with 14 gold biscuits at PVCP, Khudengthabi on Monday by 12 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR. As per reports, they were having around 2.3 Kg gold.
Assam Rifles Personnel got the input that they were travelling in a silver color Maruti van – MN01G 3002. This vehicle was on the way to Imphal from Moreh. Vehicle was checked at PVCP, Khudengthabi at around 1545 hrs. These gold biscuits were hidden inside their shoes, inside the buckle of their leather belts and even inside battery socket of their mobile phones.
As per the press release, 14 gold biscuits of approximate worth 69 lacs have been recovered from these two. Both were identified too. Report was written against two, Sabir Ahamed, 23 years S/O Md Turabali, R/O Lilong, Thoubal dist and Rafijuddin, 28 years S/O Md Hifijuddin R/O Lilong, Thoubal dist and this recovered gold have been handed over to Custom Preventive Force, Moreh.
