On Saturday evening, 5 Jammu and Kashmir Rifles recovered an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) near Imphal Airport. Assam Rifles sources said, “The Road Opening Party of 5 Jammu and Kashmir Rifles informed about this and Bomb Disposal team of Assam Rifles was immediately pressed into action along with the police. All vehicles moving along the road were stopped at a safe distance to prevent any casualty.”
As per the press release by Assam Rifles (South) that IED was destroyed within 45 minutes after its detection. Everything was safe and under control. The IED was having 500 gm of explosives (Neogel-90) and was found with detonator and nails.
For further investigation, in this case, one FIR has been registered at Singjamei Police Station.
