Security forces have arrested an alleged arms smuggler at a check post near Lilong Bridge in Thoubal district. Manipur Police told that Md Amjad Khan, a 26-year-old man, was caught during the Wednesday operation of a joint team of Assam Rifles jawans and state police commandos. One car and one 9mm pistol with magazine were seized from Amjad Khan.
Manipur Police spokesperson further told that this team operation was launched under the supervision of Thoubal SP S Gautam Singh. The team received a tip and on the basis of which, they launched the operation to nab the man at the vehicular checkpoint.
