Yesterday, Imphal east district police have accomplished yet another drive against illegal migrants and arrested eight Rohingiyas including five minors from Hatta Golapati area.

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Manipur police, K. Jayenta shared with the media that all these were arrested from a rented house in the early morning. They got entry into India with the help of a Bangladeshi agent, Md. Ayub, w who is married to one of the local lady from Thoubal Moijing. Md. Ayub is currently in Malaysia. His wife had assisted him in making all the needed arrangements.

DIG further added that this is a case of human trafficking, nothing related to any terror group.

Further reacting to the much talked about allegation of police action against a minority community, DIG K. Jayenta, appealed to ignore such nonsense. He added that people are trying to give police job a communal tone. We are the law enforcing agency and never acted to harass any community.
