Mumbai police have busted an international child trafficking racket. As per the reports, at least 300 children were sold from India to the US client.
Police have recently arrested Rajubhai Gamlewala aka Rajubhai who is the main culprit behind this almost 11 years old child trafficking racket. Police shared that few members of the racket were arrested in March.
After receiving an order, they used to search for poor families who would sell their kids and also, those families who are willing to rent out their children’s passports. A passport with a picture with some resemblance to the child would then be selected. This gang was getting Rs 45 lakh for each child from his US-based clients.
The accused have been booked under the IPC’s sections 34 (common intention) and 373 (buying minor for purposes of prostitution). Gamlewala will be in police custody till August 18.
