Ranju Singh wife of an army officer Lieutenant Colonel, Dharamvir
Singh has complained that her husband has been taken into army
custody by a troop of army jawans lead by Lieutenant Colonel, Nanda
and Major Rathod, from his quarter on July 1 without any sort of arrest
warrant.
Yesterday, she made this complaint in a press conference held at
Manipur Press Club.
Ranju stated that her husband has been serving in Indian Army for the
past 32 years. This was his second posting in this state. She said that
she with her two daughters reached Imphal on June 30 to meet her
husband. On that day, they spent good time. But on the following day
at 6.30 am, two army officers accompanied by 8-10 jawans in uniforms
with weapons took away her husband.
Lt. Col. Nanda told her that Dharamvir will be taken under custody as
per direction of Col. Ranjan Singh, CO 3 CISU. However, no reason for
this arrest was given. An FIR has been lodged at city police Imphal West
in the evening on the day.
Various civil voluntary organisations have so far support her and stated
that they will stand for truth without any fear and appealed to release
Dharamvir safely.
